  • I loved the TT24, its sad that it is having such bad luck now. The M7CL's are pretty sweet but expensive. Im hearing good things about the PreSonus Studio Live boards, hoping to get some time on one of them soon... there is a large snake that I left in place just in case anything happened to the TT24... but Im sure you have seen that by now... tell Brian and the boys I said hello.

  • @iamspeedracer500 - Hey man, I'm TVCTAS now, LOL. It was cool to find this video. I've heard good things about you. Just wanted to comment: Martin has released numerous firmware updates for the smartMAC. I was experiencing the same thing. For different reasons, the fixtures would freeze up, the lamp would turn off, and other wierdness. Now its smooth sailing thanks to the firmware updates.

  • @SoulfulProductions hey nice to meet you, yeah the smart macs were very glitchy, glad to hear they are running smooth now. How is the TT24 running, my road buddies are telling me they are dropping like flies, a good replacement for the is either the Yamaha LS9 (32 ch though) or my new board, the Yamaha M7CL48, very nice board. Well good luck to you, tell everyone I said hello.

  • I had 8 SCX 500's but since the majority of events here envolve classical music the cooling fans of 8 scanners above the stage was too much, when the symphony would go quiet during a piece you would all of a sudden hear the whine of the fans, so we opted for the smart macs, and since we couldnt dim the scanners either we werent out anything really... Im not too impressed with the smart macs, being first generation they have alot of bugs in them...

  • What kind of bugs did you notice in the smartMac "iamspeedracer500"?

  • mainly in start up or shut down, they wouldnt respond to light jockey's commands, I would have to go into the group of smart mac's and shut them down where as my 575's would follow the prompt from LJ to shut down or start up. another problem I would have is I would often have to go in and un-install them from LJ and re-install them because the would stop responding to LJ all together.

  • My name is Rhett by the way, I don't have a personal YouTube account. I know Brian thinks alot of you. He's mentioned you quite a bit. They weren't happy with the guy that replaced you. I'm two generations down from you.

  • However, for church, Yamaha's global re-call safe feature on channels like Pulpit or "CM1" would be wonderful. TT24 requires you to specify snapshot filtering on a per-snapshot basis. I don't think that makes much sense, that should be a global thing. Either it is or it ain't. But I don't jump on the "hate TT24" bus. Probably because I haven't used it in its terrible-day. It does OK, but for the price, you really can't beat it.

  • TT24 is A-OK thanks to the very last build actually. It had glitchy faders, would reset if you edited effects, and also other wierd things. But I haven't noticed anything since the last update. The Yamaha boards are better, true, but they're considerably more expensive with the digital snake factored in. I used the M7 quite a bit at First Assembly in town, love the 48 on top. TT24 still kills for price point. But yeah, if folk don't have build 110 firmware, throw it out the window. LOL

  • oh wow that sounds like a major problem. I wonder why they (Martin) didn't pick that up in the testing process.

    Thanks for the heads up!
