I Was fishing once on the lake below the Mohne dam One night, When i was stationed in germany it was so spooky you could almost hear the planes roaring down the lake.When you stand on the mohne dam and see the enormity of the task these lads had you just have to whisper to yourself RESPECT.

To think about the huge amount of air defence that would have been on that damn and how slow the lancaster seems to fly; I don't even think I would want to be in the tornados on that fateful night. Massive appreciation goes out to the men who flew on that courageous mission!

Seen this video a million times. But the Lanc emerging from behind the trees always makes the hair at the back of my neck stand up straight. Gorgeous, simply gorgeous.
