Music: Peter Allen French lyrics Sylvie Boisel
"On 4 december 2007 at a Lions Club District Christmas Party, we were privileged to be entertained by Sylvie Boisel who sang most beautifully many songs on the night. Her rendition of "I still call Australia home" in French was just absolutely wonderful. This song is one of my favourites and I have seen and heard Peter Allen (the songwriter) perform this year ago and other performers as well. I have to say Sylvie's performance of this song on the night brought tears to my eyes and I remember saying to my husband, Peter would be so proud to hear this beautiful song sung with such feeling. It was truly inspirational. I feel very privileged to have heard Sylvie sing this song. "

All these pictures were taken by me when I travelled all around Australia apart few, then they are not the best quality perhaps but they were taken with my heart.

Thank you for your comment. Yes, lol, I am French....Note that I don't eat frog and snail. :)

I'd like to go further with this song, record it again. I will.

I translated and perform this song with love and respect to Australia AND Peter Allen. Sylvie

  • Aboslutely brilliant and beautiful. I am English and live in Australia and your rendition is wonderful. I must play it to my mother who lives in Paris. France has produced some amazing singers of which you are one. Merci :) William

  • William,

Thank you to give me one of the thing I need: The recognition.....

Merci de me donner une des choses dont j'ai besoin : La reconnaissance....

    Sylvie

  • ils sont dingues ou quoi? en Francais?? this is an Aussie song and should be heard in Australian English only!

  • Hi, I understand in your comment that all the hundreds of Australian people who applaused a lot when they heard me singing this song in French, example: Australians who belong to the Sydney Lions Club, or rugby lovers, or former wallabies, etc. are mad like me as well, dixit your comment!I will not go further. It's your American point of view. :) Note: I will delete all comments with bad words. Dingue is....limit. I'll see if I'll delete it or not.

  • Sylvie, i see that i am not the first australian to thank you for this lovely rendition you have given us ... merci, merci, merci ... c'est si belle !

  • Slyvie, this is absolutely beautiful! A lovely voice, and I adore that you sing it in the beautiful french language! xx

  • Merci pour cette belle performance très inattendue.

  • Just watched Kylie Minogues version of the song, but this just capped it off.

    Beautiful

  • What a stunning voice and a truly beautiful song x

  • Dear Sylvie, Your song is absolutely beautiful. Thank you so much for translating it into French. My own French is pathetic, but I so love the sound of the language! (I should have studied harder at school!) Blessings to you and those you love!

  • Chere Sylvie, j'ecoute l'esprit de mon pays - mais en francais... parce-que j'habite en europe c'est plus fort. For the more than one million of us who now live abroad this song is quite real, and with your recording we are elegantly transported....home. Brava!

  • I wish the words were listed in English on your description... I hear the j'taime and it's sounds like a very beautiful love song or long for your original country song... I understand that living in America and being a Brit!

Peace and Love from Dayton, Ohio.
