Bun Bang Fei - Selfmade-Raketen im Isaan

Mitte Mai findet im Isaan, das ist der wirtschaftlich benachteiligte Nordosten von Thailand, das Bun Bang Fai-Fest statt. Es gibt Paraden, Umzüge, Live-Musik und Tempelfeste und es werden gewaltige, selbstgebastelte Raketen in den Himmel gejagt.
Bis zu 4 Minuten Brenndauer reichen für mehrere Kilometer Höhe, die Flüge werden bewertet, die Verlierer werden im Schlamm gewälzt...

In the middle of May in the Esaan, that is the economically disadvantaged northeast of Thailand, the Bun Bang Fai celebration takes place.
Over three days, there are parades, live music and temple celebrations and enormous, homemade rockets launches to the sky.
Up to 4 minutes burning duration are enough for for several kilometers flight altitude.
The Flights are evaluated by a jury, the losers will be rolled in the mud...
