IS THIS SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF?? WHAT A FREAKIN ARYAN WHITE DEVIL!!

ever think about running it to a door lock solenoid installed on the door handle...so when the tag is read it unlocks the door then opens the door with a spring assist.

what relay did you connect to get it to unlock the door

@rubeng1128 I didn't wire into a relay. In fact, I went the really hard route and ran a wire all the way to the lock switch in the driver-side door. It worked great, though. Thanks for commenting.

Nice!! Very nice! Is it possible to mount the RFID receiver behind the door skin near the handle? Or is the metal skin likely to block the RFID?
Thanks for sharing!

@GitarStu The sensor I used is the Innovations ID-12 and can be found at SparkFun.com for only $29.95 (which is more then the microcontroller itself!) It gets its name from the fact that it is capable of reading a 125kHz RFID tag from 12 centimeters away. HOWEVER, I injected my RFID tag deep into the muscle tissue between my thumb and forefinger to protect it from any accidental damage from impact. Between that that the plastic door panel, I really cant be sure.
