Tolling aside excalibur kicks add I love that set especially those loud ones.

It's not a matter of how thick the pvc is its that when it fails it shatters. I prefer plastic..in case of failure it just splits. The launcher itself will keep any debris to a minimum and if you face it narrow end towards the audience it minimizes shrapnel

I'd love for you to get BETTER, not bigger. PVC is exactly what you do NOT want to use. When a shell does burst on you...it's going to shatter...it's also going to displace other tubes in your rack....which will fire shells in all directions, including at your crowd.
There is a reason those Excalibur shells come with HDPE mortars. I would hate to see the kids in that video in the operating room with a surgeon rooting around inside of 'em looking for PVC fragments which don't show-up on x-ray.

PVC for mortars...? *shakes head* Someone's gonna lose an eye.
Love the comments...appears some of you have had bad luck with tubes blowing up...Never had one blow up in ten plus years. but I can tell you why it happens. Some people use the cheap PVC tubing. we don't. You have to check and double check that you do NOT place a mortar upside down in one of these. We check this with 3 people before we ever begin fusing. Again, NO ONE is within 100 yards of these boxes and everything is lit electronically. Sorry to hear that some of you have bad luck.
