The US owed China $1 trillion. So what? That's less than two times of the Pentagon's 684 billion-dollar annual budget. Tax China goods one year and we don’t owe them anything. We can just raise tariffs on goods coming from China, making them more expensive to compete with American goods, thus keeping American jobs from outsourcing. China is not a free trade country. China has always forced all foreign companies to partner up with local companies and use local labor as a condition for doing business in China. The US has never forced any foreign companies other than paying taxes on profits.That's the principle of free market, but China does not follow the rules. What we need to do is to boycott China goods; the US gov needs to raise tariffs on goods coming from China, impose fines on Chinese companies that illegally copy or steal US intellectual property.
