Everyone likes sorbet.
It's healthier than ice cream, AND its easy to make ;)

recorded this on a mac, 2 macs actually, and i use a pc... so i dont have imovie, so i couldnt read the .MOV format, so i had to download a trial version of some other software... just ignore the watermark :D
Prep: 20mins
Freeze: 2 hours
Equipment:
- electric blender
- whisker (for the eggs - you can use a fork, or chopsticks if you dont have a whisker)
- sieve (if you dont like pips in your sorbet)
- a small saucepan
2 mixing bowls
- a container
Ingredients:
- 250g of castor sugar
- 250ml of water
- 1 egg white
- 450g of strawberries (you can substitute this for another fruit)
- 1 tbsp of balsmic vinegar (lemon juice works good too)
Method:
- wash and dry the strawberries
- liquidize the strawberries in a blender and sieve out the pips
- dissolve castor sugar and water in a saucepan and let boil for about 1 min
- chill both the strawberry puree and the sugar solutions in the freezer, SEPERATELY for about 20mins or until cool
- once cool, mix the puree and sugar solution together, then stir in the vinegar (or lemon juice)
- in a seperate bowl, whisk the egg whites until it forms peaks, slowly whisk it into the strawberry solution, mix well
- pour the strawberry solution in a shallow container, and freeze until solid
(- you could take it out after an hour and mash up the solids, then freeze it again, apparently its supposed to help the freezing process?)
