@NeverShoutAllyson It's pretty much impossible to potty train 5 weeks olds. I usually start at about 8 weeks old. Have you separated the males and females yet? Rats are fertile at 5 weeks old.

I have a rat now, but she is my first, I'm getting another one next month so she will have a companion, but my Izabell looks... I don't know a bit skinnier than yours... I've been making sure she hasn't lost weight since I got her from the pet store, if anything I've made sure she gained weight... Is it not enough or are some kinds of rats naturally chubby?
ToxisGrey 1 year ago
@ToxisGrey I'm very happy to read that you will soon have a buddy for Izabell. My rats are a combination of males and females. The males are a bigger. All mine are spayed and neutered as well. But yes, each rat are unique in body size. Some are long, while others are big boned. Some get chubby too.

what's wrong with the rats that are hidden behind that board? Are they sick or aggressive or something? I just noticed there separated from the other rats when that brown rat was trying to jump in there.
BriannaDawnc 1 year ago
@BriannaDawnc There's nothing wrong with them, it's just not their out time yet. Rats that are not properly introduced can become a wee bit aggressive with each other, mainly just scratching at each other, the ones in the cage are protecting their home.
