I'm going to be seeing the Newsboys over Labor Day weekend for LifeLight. I don't know where you're from or if you've ever heard of LifeLight, but LifeLight is a 3 day free Christian rock music festival held in Sioux Falls, SD. The festival used to have 3 headliners, but this coming year, it will only be The Newsboys headlining, although a lot of good bands will be there - Kutless and Family Force 5. I hope Phil Joel comes back. The whole economy - that why just the one headliner.

Makes sense. But alas, our dear Phil Joel is only a guitar player.

3.Appearance- I've heard from many people that a bass player that uses his fingers over a pick comes off as "cool".
4. Bass guitar vs. electric guitar- Whenever I see a bass player that uses a pick I automatically make the assumption that they are just a guitar player who is trying to play bass. Now of course, I know you are a guitar player. I knew that from the first video of yours.
5. Responsibility- You don't have to carry around a pick and never go searching for one whenever you want to play

1.The sound- In my personal opinion, using a pick makes the tone sound metallic and not as rich as using your fingers.
2.Tradition- for the most part, all the big-wig bass players use their fingers (i.e. Marcus Miller, Stanley Clarke, Victor Wooten)

Oh, the many reasons...
Am I criticizing you? Nope. Just stating my opinion. I honestly think you are very talented.

Its Absolutely fine. I'm not upset or feel like you were. I just honestly wondered. Those are good reasons. I do use my fingers on alot of songs but some I use my pick.. Most of the Newsboys songs I use a pick because their actual bass player, Phil Joel, Uses one when he plays. so that is how these songs were recorded originally... another thing with this video is the fact I actually had a lot of treble in this because I had my bass plugged into my vox guitar amp instead of my bass head....
