"Pathetic on ordinary 95 octane fuel"??? Not my experience at all. I just drove my mechanically unrestored 1978 68,000 mile GS (apart from having GSA electronic ignition) to France (near Orleans) and back on 95 octane, no additives -898 miles door to door, 75 mph most of the time.No problems whatsoever, engine like a turbine. One of the automotive greats !
@barrett5169 In all due fainess i like old cars, except the Morris Marina/Ital (piano!) and Austin Allegro despite its radical steering wheel (yes ok most Audi's have pentagonal wheels now) and 'alledged rustproofing' and it has been styled by a committe decision to put money firstmost and foremost. THe GS may have a low CD but is fatally flawed.
@barrett5169 I driven a GS which was owned by my brother. He restored the thing to concours winning standard and still there was problems with it. Thanks to the advancement of modern technology cars SIMILAR to this can be improved e.g. beefed up radiator and pump, nitrogen in tyres, metal/oil treatments in engine etc. After all of this the dam thing kept on clogging its fuel lines and is pathetic on ordinary 95 octane fuel. Also it does not have the attributes of a similar car b4 it, the DS.
my trike is a tcs and has the 1300cc engine gearbox out off one
