Hey guys. My buds are finally done drying. They were probably done a little sooner but it was hard to tell because of the different sizes. I might have gone too dry on some of them so I will be placing a moist qtip in the jar for a while to add some moisture back in. Just a little trick to rehydrate. You could also use a lemon or lime peel but I don't want to add a citrus flavor to my bud. I will keep up with this process until I get the buds to where I want them to be and then I will weigh it all out. The LCD is almost done too.

  • Yes, I agree with you...waiting for the stems and branches to snap is way over dried...that's an old school method. I like to hang dry for 3-5 days...as soon as the budz are nice crisp on the out side, I remove them from the branches (leaving some branches to still draw moisture from)...then place them in a brown bag (double bagged) for 1-2 days...then jar them up and air out 2-3 times for the first 3-5 days...afterwards, I remove the remaining branches and stems (now properly snapping).

  • @SSR909IEX3 Yeah I added a moist qtip in the jar for a couple of days now and rehydrated the bud because I felt as if it was too dry. No one like bud that is too dry lol. It now feels like where I want it to be at. I will continue to air it out though to get the remaining moisture out that is just lingering in the air right now since I have removed the qtip.

  • @MrGrowingGreen - good deal...I'll keep that "Q-tip" method in mind. That's pretty cool and new to me.

  • @SSR909IEX3 Yeah man it works well. You just have to make sure you check up on it. You can do the same thing with a lemon or lime peal. If you leave it in there long enough the bud can even take on the fruity smell and taste. Make sure you want that though lol! If not I would stick to the qtip.

  • no q tip

  • @jwh238 Why not? It feels a little crunchy to be honest. Not as soft.

  • @MrTrapper1017 Read a book dude. There are such things as stupid questions...for the record.

  • The reason for waiting until they snap is so they don't mold while curing. If you put them in jars that moist, you need to burp the jars more frequently. It also brings out colors, and makes the buds more potent while curing.

  • Hey what does putting it in the jar do u said make it taste and smell better?

  • Buds that thin should not be air hung more than a day. They will dry too fast and unevenly. I hang buds that are that thin for 6-12 hours until they are getting dry on the outside, the cure them

Curing them until the stem snaps is nice, drying them until the stem snaps and THEN curing them is too dry.
