@HammerInPeace Did you know that most of the founding fathers weren't even that religous or Christain. Ex. George Washington, Ben Franklin, Thomas Jefferson, etc. These cult-er I mean religous people just keep trying to find excuses to why they are right and eventually they start saying they're right because it says so in the bible of they say the old kindergarten method,"I'm right and you're wrong.

Unfortunately, Santorum has stated that he does not believe in the separation in church and state, according to him, he doesn't think it was "the founders' vision". Kinda funny since I thought the founding fathers came to the US to escape religious persecution.

Santorum is a fucking dumbass. He is jumping around the question and coming up with an argument that is completely irrelevant to gay marriage due to the fact that he is unable to steadily come up with a counter. He is talking about multiple people marrying all in a whole. But I do not believe that the moral values of a human is to disgrace a group of people, who have the same basic freedoms as everybody else , in a whole just because you do not believe it is what God had planned for us.

We need "less government" all right, except when it comes to who you're in love with, or whether or not you want to use birth control or have an abortion...than all of sudden we need more regulations. You know, to "protect the sanctity of marriage". 50% of marriages end in divorce, why is divorce still legal? Why is adultery not punishable by steep jail terms?

The problem with this debate is that the audience wasn't using the right argument. The issue here isn't: marriage for everyone, it's, discrimination based on sexual orientation. With interracial marriage, it was discrimination based on skin color. Both race and sexual orientation are inherent and should be protected. Santorum's attempt at equating it to polygamy is invalid because polygamy is not inherent. Bottom line: Polygamy does not equal sexual orientation; apple does not equal orange.
