How To Grow Coralline algae

Your method will work just fine. All coralline needs is the correct conditions and it will grow fine. HOB filters also work. Don't let others discourage you BowHunt. Those who tell you it can't be done are simply those who can't or won't. If you want to accomplish something, find someone who has ALREADY gone where you want to go and learn from them. Successful people love sharing with others who also wish to succeed.

@BowHunt1229 i has one for a small nano tank, so yeah!

Not bad man good concept for a small tank... I would only use this size to do just what your doing and grow Coraline on your rock but you must keep parameter correct and also I would add some type of blue light to it they seem to grow best with the actinic light...check out my page... Im setting up a new 90 gallon...

u must not use this language for the beginners...just guide them please...thx

You have the right idea, Colaline should grow this way. Just because its not exactly text book means nothing. you've shown people that some times its ok to do things differently. There will always be DIE HARD people who turn their noses up to some thing new. But if they read as much as they judged , they would know its been done this way FOR YEARS!!! .

coraline algae isnt a spore its a incruster. It only grows If it has direct contact with the roots so by scrapping it you killed it.

@BowHunt1229 dont call people a sand nigger, thats fucking ignorant... even if this guy is being a cunt.

@repticdude22 depending on whats in the filter, a hangon one like this is basically the same thing as a refugium... its a separate container where bacteria and other organisms can decompose organic material undisturbed. the only difference is that Bowhunt prob didnt pay a shit load for it and it supports a small tank. throw some rocks, bioballs, porous filter media, gravel, whatever and you got a fucking refugium. amphipods will even grow in there (the ones that survive the impeller).

How about just testing n maintaining a calci level above 430 n you'll grow plenty that's what I did n I'm 8 monthes in n Coraline is already a nussience
@BowHunt1229-I can see ur talent from the tank itself...a piece of junk... il rather take a crap on this shit asshole...noticed one thing...everyone is ending up fucking with your ideas of growing coralline algae...so why dont u shut the fuck up ... i know people like u are more of a transvestite and like to stick advises on others noses without knowing a little piece of info..get a dildo and fuck ur ass rather than commenting gunk and misleading people...i hope u get that sassy pants...

@shiladitya1991 what the fuck else would you like me to put on it and not have it look like a fucking whirlpool? and by the way this tank ran excellent for 9 months and i upgraded to a 55 gallon, which, i also had a HOB penguin bio wheel and a HOB skimmer on and they also did fine.know your shit before you accuse other people of not knowinng theirs. just because you arent talented enough to make it work doesnt mean im not.
