This is a live performance that I made syncronizing a Roland V synth, a command station, Korg Electribe ESX1, Korg Electribe EMX1and a Roland SP 808 with MIDI. Name of the track is "lifeforms". Some samples come from a documental about the movie 2001 from Stanley Kubrick.

  • The Proteus 2500 and the command stations share the same engine. Actually they are a little far beyond most of the romplers, due to its hability to interconnect multiple parameters through its awesome modulation matrix; that feature results in awesome veersatily to create complex sounds. They are mostly used as sequencers, but they can be also very creative and deep synths to generate a wide variety of sounds

  • Truebrunorc, if you have a Proteus 2000, get an Xl-7!! That'll give you an awesome sequencer, and you'll have a total of 8 rom slots!! And lots of outs you can run through an analog desk for extra tweaking.

  • Very nice - good work.

  • nice studio & nice track! love it.

  • Can you tell something about the pattern sequencing on XL-7? I was able to use Yamaha RM1x for a while and I really liked the concept - not the sound, though. Being an owner of E-mu Proteus 2000 I was looking at XL-7 ROM some time ago (beats mode!), but gave up eventually. Now I would like to add some pattern based sequencer to my equipment, and I am wondering 'bout XL-7. Can you share some experiences? Or even movies...
