@jonny96, I have seen a number of airshows and been 'lucky' enough to have been just 100m from the side of a runway when Concorde rotated on take off. The noise from a small aircraft (F15, F22) is loud, but from Concorde it is much louder and really does make your insides shake. Also he might have warned the crowd about other aircraft but they are not shown on this video. But then again have you ever heard an early morning VC-10 take off. No need for alarm clocks!

Surely the most beautiful man-made machine that ever flew. Londoners would stop in the street and watch, even if they'd seen her many times before. All day long, neutered planes would tiptoe in and out quietly; then this fabulous freebird, who didn't give a shit how much noise she made, would appear in a wall of unfettered, crackling thunder, blow all the dull and grey things away, and the excited kid sprang up inside you.
Profitable? In money, no. In spirit and soul..? Immeasurably.
