The Sevylor SVX500DS is 17 feet but weighs only about 45 lbs. With the folding SailboatsToGo sail kit (about 35 lbs) it becomes a great sailboat. See it here on Maho Bay, St. John. www.sailboatstogo.com

  • That looks cool

  • @peterdcarter1 Thanks. There is a new kayak in this size class: The Sea Eagle 465FT and it sails really well too. I just got back from the Caribbean and I sailed it almost every day. What a blast!

  • Where is that? Mahu Bay? Looks a bit like the Abel Tasman in NZ.

  • @gh30 Maho Bay, St. John Island, US Virgin Islands.

  • how do you steer the thing???

  • @Ghillie334 steering oars.

  • i want one of these setups before I go to maho again- i think they get like $85 an hour to rent a hobie, and how awesome would it be to skin dive off one of these in those waters!

  • even the singing sound great

  • @sizophyz Probably around 5 or 6

  • That is sweet. Just bought me an Ascend FS10 angler kayak from Bass Pro shop last week. You have the perfect setup for being out there, I'm actually jealous. God I have to get out of the city!
