Fighting rages around the capital of Georgia's breakaway South Ossetia as Georgian troops bombard separatist forces..

They're laying siege to Tskhinvali in a bid to re-take control of the territory. The UN Security Council, meantime, held an emergency session on the escalating conflict but failed to agree on the text of a statement of condemnation.

  • Georgians tried to regain control over South Osetia by eleminating its population as they tried in early 90s. What russians did is just prevented genocide of osetians.

  • So, Russia can attack Chechnya because they dont want to be a part of russia, but when Ossetia, which is really a part of Georgia, tries to break free, Georgia cannot do anything? fucking stupid
