On the clubs 7th birthday in approx 1999 The WayOut Club UK presented a very unusual act - Maybelline the "Living Doll" . The WayOut Club in London (the worlds best transgender club) puts on a different show every Saturday www.thewayoutclub.com
Maybeline who has now changed name to Clementine wrote to me recently ....
Hello Vicky! I should have been concentrating on writing a script , but instead put my name into you-tube to see what happened- and there popped up one of my first appearances as Maybellene the Living Fashion Doll on your site! I remember the night very well- and particularly how nice and supportive you were to me. Well, i have to say, a lot has happened to Maybellene since that night last century! The next year, in 2000, Maybellene had a smash hit show at the Edinburgh Festival- Graham Norton came and reviewed it for the BBC and we did 207 performances
Maybellene then went on to star for two years running at the London International Mime Festival and subsequently had her own cabarets at the Batersea Arts Center, her own Christmas Special at the Hackney Empire , the Vauxhall Tavern and countless appearances on the gay circuit.
In about 2004 she got a Lawyer who suggested she change her name to avoid any potential problems with the make up brand- so after a weeks soul searching Maybellene became CLEMENTINE the living fashion doll.
She was invited to star in the Oslo Fashion Awards TV Special and was flown back just in time to record a 13 part series for ITV1 called the Dan and Dusty Show.
The next year she was flown out to Singapore to stage her own mini musical at the new Esplanade Arts Centre.
In 2008 the BBC asked Clementine to make a regular diary for their website-

Even though Clementine is a doll- she's no dummy! She then became a journalist/presenter for an online magazine-

Last year the BBC asked Clementine to make a 14 part series reviewing the costumes on their biggest entertainment show, Strictly Come Dancing!
She even visited the designer who made her a fabulous miniature ball gown- http://www.bbc.co.uk/strictlycomedancing/features/
This year Clementine is starring in a spectacular event called Lingering Whispers at the St Pancras Gallery opposite Euston Station. Its a fusion of fashion and fine art- over 40 international artists and fashion designers will be exhibiting work which explores how GLAMOUR can flourish in the economic crisis. Clementine will be performing on the opening night to over twenty thousand guests- there will be free champagne, several supermodels , top designers, Celebes etc
