Stacey finds Cass playing pinball and learns that he sent Derek to plead his case to Frankie. Stacey tells Cass she doesn't know what he was doing with Cecile. She can't believe Cass would let Cecile back into her life. Cass says he knew it wasn't going to work with Cecile from day one. Stacey asks why he let Cecile back into his life then, when he had a good thing going with Frankie that was starting to come together. Cass admits to his sister that he's scared of what's happening between him and Frankie. Things are going too well.

Out at the farm, Derek tells Frankie that she's scared to be with Cass. Frankie scoffs at that, saying that she and Cass are all wrong for each other because Frankie is a straightforward, keep-it-simple kind of girl, no pretenses, no exaggerations, but Cass prides himself on moving from woman to woman and leaving a path of destruction equaled only by the Black Plague. Derek thinks Frankie is exaggerating just a bit there. Frankie says that Cass is as phony as a three-dollar bill, not to mention arrogant, obnoxious, and conceited.

Cass, meanwhile, is telling Stacey that Frankie is stubborn and fundamentally, she's crazy, and when you look at it logically, he and Frankie are all wrong for each other. Stacey says she herself is leaning towards the idea that love doesn't make any sense. She tells Cass that if he wants Frankie, he has to follow his heart. Cass asks his sister if she's ever afraid her heart might be wrong. Stacey says yes, that scares her to death.

Derek tells Frankie that Cass did not put him up to this, he only strongly suggested it, and asks her what he's supposed to tell Cass. Frankie replies that maybe Derek could just say that she's trying to protect herself because she's afraid of getting hurt again. Who needs it? Derek says there's no doubt about it, love's a risky business. But once you've felt that feeling, how can you live without it?
