Update: I had forgotten that the setting for this film makes it, ostensibly, a Christmas film. Share the magic with someone you love. ;)

Happy Holidays,
Keith "It's Christmas in July!" Crosley

This is the submitted cut for my team's entry in the 2008 San Francisco 48 Hour Film Project. The genre was "Fantasy"... This Lynchian fugue is the result! While the film has certain technical problems due to time constraints, most of the content is very close to what I had originally intended. Look for a "director's cut" and "making of" video to be posted soon.

Shot on HV20 (most shots with Raynox .66 wide adapter), edited on Sony Vegas. Shot in HDV resolution, 24P, mostly spotlight mode to limit gain. Captured to Cineform, edited in HD. A simple Magic Bullet toolchain used for global color correction and to complete the "film look."

Our film screened on Thursday, July 24th as part of 48HFP San Francisco Group C, where it was screened last out of about a dozen entries. It was well received by audiences, who I think mostly "got" what we were trying to do.

BTW, if you did the San Francisco 48HFP 2008, please point me to a link for your film! I got a kick out of seeing the other Group C and D entries, but didn't see the "Group A" and "Group B" screenings.

Additionally, if you're in the SF Bay Area and this film strikes a chord with you, feel free to contact me about participating in future projects.

Cheers,
Keith "Technically, that's an elk." Crosley

what letter police did you use for the end credits?

I liked the images, is Magic Bullet toolchain an effect of Vegas or a program on its own?
