No I did not build it, My friend did from a 1/4 balsa USA kit. I helped show him the way to paint this type of plane, And I also painted the scotty dogs on the sides...

My friend does a nice job with this plane. It does have very subtle aileron control. He really wishs he could get more throw, but is restricted by his hinge at this point. You want to have plenty of altitude before attempting a roll. it comes around REAL slow.

My friend found an old crusty picture online. We tried to make it look just like that picture instead of some of the replicas built after the war. I think possibly the dogs on the planes varied a lot plane to plane...

I am not sure if you are joking about the dog , ha ha.. but my friend found a crusty old picture of an original airplane and he liked the dog painted on it..So I sketched it out and painted it on both sides of the plane...
