@rainstormz28 Have you ever heard the lines from the Johnny Cash song, Ever Since Time Nothing's Ever Been Found That's Stronger Than Love.
Gene and Rex coupled with R.A.Dicks story and Herrmann's Haunting score under the Direction of Mankiewicz created this timeless and haunting classic, one I never grow tired of.

This movie is fantastic, and I am 16. Then again, the 40's are my era of choice.

Was there somebody in this film with Gene?If so,I never noticed.Must have been a ghost.
Merry Christmas to all those who love Gene and to all those who will.

this was beautifully done -- thank you so much -- the score was just magnificent, if ever more apropos for a motion picture, one could visualize the crashing of the waves and whitecaps of a turbulent sea, as well as the beauty, sensitive poetry of the love story. Simply magnificent.
Is there any possibility that the entire movie might be posted, or already is, on YT? They just don't make movies like this anymore.

If within each of us there is a time capsule, a collection of images, melodies and emotions we gather in life, this movie does much to express in feeling where words would totally fail.

One of my favorite movies, I guess because I'm an old salt. Tierney is as beautiful as always, and her character is sympathetic and believable. Human beings do sometimes live in a twilight world suspended between our known reality, and what our senses cannot discover. Sometimes I feel this life is just a small part of the big picture we cannot yet fathom, and that someday the beauty of the whole thing will be revealed to us on the other side. The colors will penetrate our very soul!

I just watched this movie and consider myself a "tough guy" but have to admit, my eyes became a little misty watching various scenes, especially the last one closing out the film, there is something about this film version and the music that accompanies it that gets me like no other movie..beautiful, I guess we all are looking for this kind of love....

I agree, this is certainly one of the BEST films made in the 40s, but then there were so many great films from that decade. It makes one wonder, what has happened to Hollywood that they've become so out of touch?
