Sixteen years of observations of stars around the galactic centre are assembled in this video. The real motion of the stars has been accelerated by a factor 32 million. The individual images have been shifted and stretched to the same scale and orientation (Courtesy of ESO/R Genzel and S Gillessen)

  • Event Horizon...... Einstein proved that if we are actually able to witness a black hole.... The light between it and us will be sucked in and we will also be sucked in as we are in the same space/time as that light......so, dont ever look directly at a black hole without special viewing lenses. You can get em on E-Bay for 3 easy payments of 4,638,000$ each. With each purchase you get an instructional video and some nice raisin cookies from WW2. Enjoy!! :D

  • Wish I'd read that before looking at this vid. Now I'm doomed to spiral in to it coz I've seen it.

Remember people, always check e bay before looking at things. ;-)

  • OmG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG THERE IS A SUPER MASSIVE BLACK HOLE IN THE CENTER OF OUR MILKY WAY GALAXY BUT IT IS HELPING US HOLDING THE STARS I THING THAT BLACK HOLE IS A GOOD BOY BUT OMG IT IS STILL YOUNG OMG

  • There is a force "infinitely" more powerful than the puny gravity, anyone know what it is? It is demonstrated on the sun all the time... Gravity really has not much of a say compared to it. It makes the mathematical construct of "black holes" unecessary and silly.. and a lot of other stuff too.

  • thats some crazy gravity whipping that one star around

  • @photon101203 it slingshotted around it, like Apollo 13 did with the moon.....entered partial orbit and got flung out

  • lol your goofy willy! haa

  • incredible!

  • The mass of the black hole caused it to go so fast that it could escape.

  • The stars are orbiting the black hole isn't? Imagine the velocity them!!

  • WOW !! And i don't knew that we could see something like it! Great!

  • Good call...but since the event horizon exists wouldnt that mean that the stars moving behind or into the black hole not have been about to see?
