@intelinside431 Granite can contain radioactive elements/isotopes. The concentrations can be extreemly tiny, or very large. You must test granite to determine the radioactivity before using it (most sold in the USA has been scanned before being sold). I am not sure, but it looks like she is using a long plastic scintillation probe with a rate meter attached to count the photons emitted from the granite.
