  • Ray Pizzi loves the bassoon, loves music, and wants to see and hear the instrument recognized in the many contemporary musical styles.

He has, through his performing, composing, education, and cheerleading, done more than any one person in history to promote the use of the bassoon outside of its traditional “classical” role. (Dr. Jon Beebe, IDRS Journal, 2010)

  • I play this on sax, but I have to say this is superb. I love it! Now you've mastered Thelonious Monk how about some Charlie Parker please? Good for you!

  • Thank You Lyn, You are a great player and I appreciate your comment. However,

I have dedicated my life to finding my OWN musical voice through knowledge, education and experience. The reason why music is at such a stagnant state, is the lack of knowledge, adventure, creativity and COURAGE, (amongst MOST younger musicians). My theory is to teach my students how to CREATE THEIR OWN MUSIC negating the boredom that is rampant in todays music. Thanks for allowing me to pontificate. : )

  • Alguien que se atreve a tocar jazz con un fagot, merece ser escuchado, aunque me gusta más al saxo (buscar mp3 en su página)

  • Someone who dares to play jazz with a bassoon, deserves to be listened. fjaos

  • Brilliant!!

  • An absolute jazz bassoon classic. One of a kind. Nobody else would have the BALLS!!! 5*

  • yeah man, this is cool. nice work

  • I LOVE how you make the bassoon accompany itself. It takes your vast knowledge of melody, harmony and rhythm to accomplish this.

  • GOOD JOB
