Schweppes Balloon Burst

If I told you that I haven't shed a tear at how beautiful these commercials are I'd be lying. This commercial was filmed across Victoria, including an astonishingly beautiful redwood forest in the Otways. All the effects are in camera and the only post production effects were to remove some of the props designed to pop or explode the balloons. The camera is a special digital camera that captures motion at a rate of up to 9000 frames a second, most of the footage you would normally view is at 25 frames a second. It is this high frames rate that allows us to view water balloons like we have never seen them before. You get asked by directors at times to organise permission to film in some unusual places. In the case of this commercial we had to find and receive permission to film in a famous Melbourne Building Foyer and on top of this we had to negotiate to be able to have 50 people in black tie outfits to have a water fight. Sounds crazy? Yes. Did we make it happen? Yes, and the results are truly spectacular
