As a martial arts teacher, my job is to help as many as I can; I help them see not only the beauty of the martial arts, but the beauty that they have within themselves. There are so many kids that need help, fighting depression amongst many other things. For me, when I used to have a bad day I used to go on nature walks, watch and observe nature, go for car rides, listen to music or train in the dojo by myself. This is what I am trying to show as a way of expression. Budo is not just about fighting; it is in all that we do, and it is in all that we are.

Here in Kansas City, so many look at the inner city and see it as rundown, old, not the "new." I see it as beautiful and possessing so many great stories. The shots that you see are in my area of Kansas City specifically Turner & Argentine, although some shots include Rosedale. They are still beautiful and hold a lot of meaning. It might not be what it once was, but it is just as beautiful as it always was, just like Budo.

I hope that you all enjoy the video.
Take care, be safe and good luck in your journey of Budo.

  • I can't understand why do people set out to hurt or slander you? I have seen your videos and your use of techniques, I admit that they are quite good. I myself am a 27 year practioner in Goju Ryu, Aikido, Iiado, Kendo and Japanese Ju Jutsu. I can see that you want to teach and enjoy it. Please stay strong and do not be discouraged by all the negative people.

Here's a thought to leave with you:

If you light a lamp for someone, it will also brighten your own path.

  • @ZenBushidoMA -- Not for sure either; I just teach the arts to the ones that want to learn. I have never,.. and will never,..make a video talking negative about another person; this has no place in budo.

  • appreciable and intriguing compliments for editing...

  • @incomprensibile50 - thank you very much for the kind words, there are so many wonderful and beautiful things right in our back yard, but we just have to open our eyes and see it. Thanks for the post and the kind words!

  • I work in Argentine, and Turner so those are my stomping grounds. I know those streets like the back of my hand, and I can tell you it may be a little run down but the community is STRONG. They watch out for each other and there are good people there,

  • @jgturpin Thanks for for the post!
