Here is the product of a day's worth of work: an underwater arboretum, complete with grass. The biggest hassles with the project were finding enough coal to smelt sand for windows and growing the grass into the base of the arboretum (which took quite a long time). Overall, I'm happy with the end result.

  • how did you get grass into the base? i'm having troubles with that part also

  • @95redtegls In order for grass to grow on dirt, the dirt must have (1) enough light and (2) a grass block adjacent to it.

To grow the grass underwater, I had to make a dirt staircase from grassy blocks on land down into the base. I destroyed the staircase once the grass reached the bottom, which is why it isn't seen in this video.

The time it takes for grass to grow on a dirt block once the two aforementioned conditions have been met is random. Generally it takes a few minutes per block.
