Greenfield Creek Marsh lands 8x10 Gary Garrett Painting demo plein air time lapse

This is painted from the Wonderwood Bridge of the beautiful Greenfield Creek marshlands. Also painted is a wood stork common in that area. The painting was done 12-22-07 on an 8x10 canvas panel in acrylics, also using a small palette knife to scrape out trees & brush. The photo at the beginning is the view I had of the area.

It was time-lapsed using a Sony TRV25 in INTERVAL mode (1/2 second every 30 seconds).

The title is a bit misleading. It's not a plein air painting. Plein air doesn't mean a landscape. It means painting outdoors and painting from direct observation.

Thanks. This was painted on the bridge walkway with cars wizzing by to my left. The time lapse video camera was setup on a tall tripod over my shoulder. I should have included some of the background in the video, but space was tight there. I shot the still photo as I was leaving, did not want to take a chance on dropping the video camera into the roadway or the water beneath me. Luckily, I had no pedestrians over the walkway during the painting. Thanks for watching.

Thanks... I won't be doing any more plein airs like that under such dangerous conditions again.... that was just too risky (GLAD I have a French-HALF-style easel)... lost my favorite detail brush into the water that day. Thanks for watching
