  • Useless, yes we want to record HD but not everyone wants disc's everywhere. The hard drives are pretty small and for the money Panasonic want I'd expect a min 2T.

  • Record streaming internet video to blu-ray sounds like inappropriate use of technology rivalled only by the usb powered christmas tree.

  • how bout this: loose a discs, and sell the hardware. then you got yourself a internet app for HD movies with extras, a online video rental store that will shutdown all rental stores. then a whole new technology is born

  • Come on Panasonic, you really need to start pushing boundaries not this old hat, regurgitating hash. We want cutting edge. Solid state drives that hold vast amounts of HD data, this is what we want. We want to just record and not run out of space ( within reason). Sky HD boxes are great but they hold to little HD content. Quick access times finding programmes etc.

I don't buy anything other than Panasonic but you really gotta try harder to get my money from now on.

  • and when is the release date? ive been down the high st and nobody knows a thing about them.and i only want it for my camcorder nothing else

  • Be nice if the thing wasn't closing in £1000! I'd love to have a Blu-Ray player and Freesat device in the same box, but not at 3 times the price of the individual devices. As far as BD recording goes... price on discs is not low and you KNOW there'll be loads of permission flags rendering recording of your fave content undoable.

  • As I understand it, all HD broadcasts, apart from expensive Sky ones, have channel logos (DOGs) permanently displayed, which is why I haven't bothered with Freesat or subscription Sky. Unless broadcasters abandon this stupid and annoying fad, I'm not likely to, and so a blu-ray recorder is of no use to me. I'll stick with commercial blu-ray discs and my own movies (I have a Panasonic camcorder which is jolly good!).

  • Very weak

  • Someone at Panasonic needs to turn on a PC.
