Some of my first attempts at video, using the Nikon D90, which is of course primarily a stills camera. Lots of wind noise and a shaky tripod, but at least I got something! 9017 and 3440 had the line to themselves, but overlapping train lengths made it impossible to get them together at Deeside from any usable viewpoint. Signalman Aled did a grand job, and the two 4-4-0s ran like clockwork.

Apologies for getting the days wrong in the captions - with just the Black 5 working on Saturday it seemed like an ordinary weekend!

  • Grand stuff. Not bad videography from a stills bloke, either. Next time, drape Charlie over the mic to cut down on the wind noise. :-)

  • What I really need is something to cut down on the Charlie noise. :-(

    Pesky dawg....

  • I just noticed the reflections of the splashers in the boiler! She really was in superb condition, visually and mechanically.
