  • It was actually shot on a compact Fuji Digital Camera (Model F10) so no hope of a directional mic i'm afraid

  • Hey there Paranormalprincess! I remember you and some other peeps doing the stuff at the pub.Was an interesting night.I remember it well :-)

Im glad me boys are on here.hehe x

  • hey, i think we may have met some of you guys in The Hungerford Arms in Farleigh Hungerford. We were conducting a Paranormal Investigation there? You might remember us...cool videos though. The castle is an amazing place to visit don't you think?

  • Thats pretty good quality for a digital still camera btw.

  • The longsword was between roughly 1350 to 1550, so very in period for you. Yes, the fight books of talhoffer were later, though not the techniques. Lichtenauer was mid to late 1300s.

  • We cover the Period from 1360 - 1390, Talhoffer was about till 1459? making it later than us ;/ the more common weapon was the Footmans Lance ie. Spear. I dont own a Longsword, but i am thinking of geting one.

Tho i love my Lochaber Axe for foot combat, but ppl fear that and you tend to break ppl with it ;/

Thx again for the info :D Simon Aka. Thomas Hngerford

  • This would give you very up close and personal fighting whilst being a little safer and also more accurate. You can then have variations with longsword vs sword and buckler and longsword vs half pike etc.

    Just a suggestion.

  • One suggestion I have is perhaps to introduce a longsword dual/fight? There is plenty of documentation, esp starting with liectenaur and you can mix in some talhoffer exotic moves to please the audience. Most of liectenaur is a close distance (krieg distance) and lots in the bind.

  • If you know about armour you would know that light sword play will not disable us, and in the public's eye and historical view looks crap. I will take you comments and try adapting some things, but I think all people want to see are large arm movements and blood shed. Thx for your points of view and for watching us fight :D Simon Aka. • Hi, i am one of the fighters, in white on the right hand side. Tbh the first guy i fight has been away for 3 years and wasn't up to scratch (it was the first show back). I have been fighting for 11years in re-enactment and 7 of that in full plate (and the fencing i did at school lol), I have looked at a lot of fighting manuals and most are later than the period that we do but from what i know most of the hits would have been to the head (unsafe in many peoples eyes).
