This is a beautiful song...and these are beautiful pictures...they go very well together...
I'm from MN, and I remember one cold winter's night, just laying on my back in front of my patio door, looking up through the glass at the Northern Lights, for hours...it was sooo very beautiful!!.............
I'm 59, New Hampshire born and raised. I worked 2nd shift for over 21 years, and had the good fortune of seeing them a number of times on my way home from work. C.W. McCall aint much of a singer, But He is about as Good a Story Teller as Tom T. Hall.
Where I grew up it could slightly be seen from the front door, the two best views of it I ever saw were up at Mammoth Springs in 1975 when we toured Yellowstone on motorcycles.
Then camped in the mountains above Bear Lake we drove up to this Microwave Tower and watched. I have always like CW McCall.
The Aurora is hard pressed to be described. It will leave you awe struck. Kinda speechless. Breathless. Gold and green, Red to blue. Undulating across the sky. You can feel your hair stand up. You stare. You can't look away. These few words are so inadequate.
I had the privilege of living in Wyoming when CW McCall made his appearance on the music scene. This song is very dear to me. Reminds me of many backpacking trips in the Wind River Mountains. Many thanks for posting!!!!

I saw the Aurora Borealis once when camping in Northeast Washington. It was awesome.
