@Rukawa11kaede Yeah exactly that's why I don't bother with SRK anymore and for most of it none of the forums mainly anymore..I just don't see a point..if people want to get a hold of me and really want to talk to me they know how to get a hold of me...US forums for me are simply a waste of time...

@DarkGeese I agree, trying to argue in forums is worthless I've heard some people calling you "DG is just a tool" like shit how people can criticized somebody like that. The anonymity that gives you the internet
-
@Rukawa11kaede Also with that "Is it worth it mentality" The USA will never ever beat the powerhouses in KOF...they won't even get past SoCal, myself or NYC....
-
@Rukawa11kaede The people that do the best in tournaments are the ones that know what the other countries/players are doing...so it's not about copying anyone, it's about learning new stuff that otherwise will come back to bite you in the ass in a tournament because you've never seen that before...
I don't think you're as up to date on the US KOF scene as you think you are. There's a thriving scene in Norcal thanks to places like Southtown Arcade and Gamecenter. Socal players even came up to the most recent XIII ranbat.
There's also a decent online community for 98/02. While it's no replacement for offline play, it's better than going in to XIII cold.
XIII is doing well in areas that already have established FG scenes; online play is only going to help it grow in areas that don't.

@multitrackdriftu I know about NorCal trust me I know all about Southtown Arcade and Gamecenter...trust me..I know about the ranbats etc..bottom line is STILL SoCal is quite stronger...but NorCal and SoCal alone in addition to New York isn't enough to save the USA.

@DarkGeese Of course Socal is stronger, they've been playing KOF (not just XIII) for way longer. That's a given.
But I think it speaks volumes that in an area with a predominantly Capcom scene, XIII is getting more attention than any KOF has before.
I think you're looking too much in to the issue of online play. Most of the SF scene in the US is forced to play online due to a lack of players in less densely populated areas. It's not unique to KOF nor is it the reason we're not good at it.

@multitrackdriftu Well bottom line is online is going to make a difference but not that much...if people can't get on SoCal's level it isn't going to matter in the end at all...as Mr. Wizard said if KOF13 doesn't get 300 people at EVO next year the US Snk scene has a lot of problems..so I'm not really counting on anything but a side tournament and bringing some people from other areas...if people don't play more people like SoCal the USA will never be good at KOF..never...

@DarkGeese Why would KOF need 300 entrants? I don't think BlazBlue, Tekken or Melty Blood ever got 300 entrants. Fewer serious players > more casual players, don't you agree?
Plus, the biggest FG scenes in the US are in Norcal, Socal, Texas and New York. Three of four have active KOF scenes that I know of.
XIII isn't going to be a success overnight, but I'm confident it will grow. If you choose not to be a part of it, I respect that decision. But don't say the US scene is something it isn't.

@multitrackdriftu That is what Mr. Wizard said I am just taking it at that and not really holding optimism otherwise. What do you mean don't say the US scene is something that it isn't? The US SNK scene is not strong, everyone knows that it's obvious, only true strength overall is SoCal and New York compared to other countries and that isn't enough it isn't. As this video says, my time is better spent with those that are already at a certain level in KOF..to which most of the USA is not..
