Before drums, the tube. I miss it. You don't always need to bang out a song, just play it sweetly.

Genia, I knew that "new" photo of Scott and Zelda I found in the web will drive you mad, as it did to me. In the movie "Always" was played on the gramophone just in the moment of Gatsby's death, I think. Or prehaps it was some other tune? I saw the first "Great Gatsby" so many years ago

Grzegorz thanks again for your post. Always is one of those eternal Berlin's hits that it is good to heard just the way it was in the twenties played by such distinguish orchestra as Lopez' was. By the way I like the Blanco y Negro cover too, a classic magazine of the twenties and thirties in Spain.

Yes, the magazine is really exquisite and charmingly snobish. The design is first class and excellent drawings and photographs can be found in each number.

MAGNIFIQUE! Though as usual I am reminded of a long ago high school version; the first line was "I'll be loving you/ in hallways...." Well, it was funny and suggestive at the time. Prefer Scott and Zelda.

Ha ha :-))) I love that version. I think I remember you sung it that way some time ago in Poland, when I once played that record for you

Grzegorz, is that your name, the guy behind this wonderful Lempitzka painting (a reproduction of which hangs above my bed)? Well, you have indeed combined a most beautiful melody with an astonishing medley of marvellous 1920s pictures! There must be somewhere in time where the l920s are still going on, a realm which we'll be able to visit after this life, and where you, Grzegorz, will have earned your position as honorary citizen! We'll meet in time! And before that many times on Youtube!
