  • Still absolutely fantastic stuff. They should get Roger Limb back to score a few new episodes if you ask me.

  • Another great score to an amazing story

  • MrTardis was right about this music, the rattle snake bits send a chill down your spine,so does this entire piece, and I FULLY AGREE!!!!!BEST STORY EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @doctorw2 At least The Caves of Androzani didn't have any blood in it unlike Attack of the Cybermen and The Two Doctors not saying there bad story because there are not.

But anyways, this story is a masterpiece in billions of ways and it is my alltime favorite Dr who story ever, it's written by the best Dr who writter ever Robert Holmes, directed by the best (or one of the best) Dr who directors ever Graeme Harper and it is one of the reasons why Peter Davison is my favorite Doctor :)

  • @JackWProductions yes, i have those stories were not as violent as caves of androzani.

  • @doctorw2 you obviously haven't seen both Attack of the Cybermen and The Two Doctors.

  • Does he use the fabulous Elka Synthex? Director Graeme Harper asked Limb to do something similar to the Beatles Day in the Life for the regeneration scene, with a huge build up. Harper stated this in an interview for a book about making this story.

  • this was the most violent episode of doctor who.

  • @EalaDubh many thanks - I will order the dvd - it's cheap on amazon.

  • @logofreetv Check out The Box Of Delights on YouTube then, it was made later in the same year as Androzani and also has really good Roger Limb music.

  • I do hope you mean real instruments. The composer's who worked post Dudley Simpson on classic DW wrote and played all their scores, and created many new sounds.

  • I remember being disappointed to read that Roger Limb had done the music for this - being a regeneration story - 'cause I didn't really like his stuff before this. Well, that made this score that much more enjoyable because it was so good. I just wish Limb had used more percussive elements in his earlier works on DW. That said, my favourite bits are the empty Androzani theme at 0:00, the Sharez Jek theme at 0:30, the chase at 3:23 and the dark music at 4:12. The regen at 4:48 ain't bad too!
