Alan Wake has been in production since 2004 while Quantic Dream started working on Heavy Rain in 2006, so why: "damn microsoft"?
+ There is nothing similar with Alan Wake and Heavy Rain worth mentioning away from a heavy focus on the plot. But they might look similar through the eyes of a child who considers them both to be "adult games".
Yup. Alan Wake was announced in 2005, the year the 360 launched.
The production time has been very long, but that's because the team [Remedy] who makes Alan Wake only consists of about 40 people. Developers like Activison or Ubisoft usually have over 200 people working on their games.
It's been one hell of a wait, but I know that it will be worth it in the end. Trust me.
