When I saw the Volt concept (here it's called "Ampera"), I thought : "that's the solution" you use electric every day, and gas exceptionally. But at launch, the price tag just killed the dream...
@z98908 I dream of the day and the Volt in my opinion is just to dam high. poor folks need cars like this more than the 70 grand a year makers. My truck right now burns nearly 45 to 60 a week in gas. And personally I could live with out the bed. Its retarded to pay that much insurance gas and maintenance nearly puts gas veichels at after purchase 12 k a year or possibly more. Its no dam wounder the economic system is crashing only the ultra wealth can make it.
I tried it, it's a great drive, serial production is currently starting.
I don't think there's any current plan to export it to North America.
In France our Electricity is cheaper than in the US, and our gas a LOT more expensive.
We'll see if customers are ready for the 60 miles range, although in practice it doesn't matter since you charge it at home and soon in many parking lots.
@matjnewton really is their a way I can get my hands on one. I am so sick of the high priced gas guzzlers. I watched the super bowl last night and it made me sick nothing on electric cars instead just more fossil guzzlers hate to say it but do we really need gas stations?
