I am a sabre fencer, and even if these guys pretty much only charge agians each other, in term of technics, sabre is much more complex than this.

They were never that aggressive back in the old days of fencing. This to be honest is boring! It's almost like halting the fight every second even though they are points.

@blossfechter While I agree, i think its only fair to recognize sport fencing as separate from historical fencing for this exact reason. While I more cautious sport fencer could apply what they know to a historical duel, there is still a huge huge huge gap in methodology.

I'll stick with sport sabre. though I must admit Polish sabre (only historical form I've tried) is also loads of fun.

@ThePowerExcess Uh... HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) is more realistic. Using steel weapons vs. rattan makes a huge difference.

ARMA is lead by a huge douche. Too bad his followers aren't allowed to fight with the rest of HEMA people since no one has a problem with them. You shouldn't encourage people to look them up.
