Although this baby orangutan is an orphan, the love and attention he receives every day at the OFI Care Center has helped him to feel like a "Fortunate Son." Hopefully, he will grow up big and strong and one day dance in the rain forest just as he dances here.If you would like to adopt Lear (the baby in this video), here's the link: http://www.orangutan.org/how-to-help/products-page/donations-to-ofi/foster-pa...
Orangutans are endangered and need our help. You can "adopt" Lear and help save rainforest by going to the official Orangutan Foundation International website: www.orangutan.org

The founder of OFI is Dr. Birute Mary Galdikas.

  • What is going on inside that hat?

  • @pshimcoolstfu It's magical whatever it is because this cute orphan reacts the same way each year/ each day that we're working there and my husband has his old hat.

  • Awful song choice

  • @cproc12 Sorry. I can't tell you how many songs I went through trying to find one where the copyright would allow usage and was really aiming for just energetic beat :-)

  • its my cousin

  • @DremordDrale DNA-wise this is more true than some people realize :-)

  • @roboroschi Yes, the "poor" part is that someone killed this baby's mother and tried to keep him chained up as an illegal pet. He loved playing with the hat and having attention from the caregivers at the CAre Center, in the rainforest on the island of Borneo where this was filmed. You can foster orphan orangutans and make a difference in the world

  • @Painkiller1117 Sadly, because orangutans are so gentle, the temptation is great to raise one like a child. However, in the wild, orangutans stay with their mothers for 7 or 8 years, so any young orangutan a person gains possession of has been stolen from his or her mother. Usually the mothers are killed in the process. Then, what kind of a life is it for a creature that loves to sway on trees? Your home would be wrecked. That being said, I do understand being attracted to them.
