@CaptMench Aha, I understand now. I thought you ment the unmatchable loudness of the bass trombone in the last chord, but now I heard the overcarrying tuba! :)
-
@ILickGlue Actually, yes -- tuba. As much as I love the sound of the bass trombone covering the tuba... in this case it was indeed the tuba player. GAH, as much as I hate to admit that a tuba could actually play LOUDER than the bass trombone.

@Mithosphere Not tuba - bass trombone.

Ah, I love that last tuba note, who cares if it carried over!

Not very musical, a clear lack of artistry, and lacked all dynamic contrast. Technically precise but there was not much music being made, just playing notes and rhythms.

Sounds great! Clear, tasteful, and precise playing.
Great venue, too!

Captain, bitte sei ein Mensch! I happen to play euphonium and tubas. Tuba chords may get muddy, but the only thing better than two part euphonium voicing is three part euphonium/baritone voicing. Ever heard the trio of Army of the Nile in the brass band version?
Only one tuba and one euphonium in a band of that size? And no real cannons in military band? But well played anyway.

Yes, only one euphonium. We do have two tubas though -- just we lost one to a move and the replacement hadn't arrived yet. I'd love to have two euphoniums... just not two euphonium PLAYERS!! (ever meet one of them?) HAHAHAHA
