This giant 600mm german mortar from World War II was known as "Karl" or "Thor". It was built in small numbers, but was very active during the first part of the conflict. They were used in the siege of Sevastopol alongside with "Dora" railroad gun.

You are only partially correct. The Germans developed the Panzerfaust which for a few marks let a boy knock out any allied tank. A King Tiger may have been unweildy, but five of them, with some support, could easily stop a whole allied armored division in their tracks. the V-1 was cheap & unmanned but caused the Allies to divert many times the resources to bomb their launching sites & defend against them.
