How-to Make a Candy DNA model

how to create a candy DNA model for my EDMT 330 class at Eastern Michigan University.

Note: In DNA, the nitrogen bases are attached to the sugars of the sugar-phosphate backbone. Also, the hydrogen bonds DON'T connect directly to the Sugar-Phosphate Backbone !! They hold the nitrogen bases together ONLY! But It was needed to put it together for this model. Make sure you know this, because your teacher may question you!

Also, to get it to twist, you might want to build a stand with two pillars? Maybe try twisting and attach the DNA model to the four corners of the stand, and use rubber bands to keep them in place? Be creative!

so how do u do the twist for the candy can u plz tell me cuz i need for a project due tommorow :O

1. make a pillar for each DNA strand to attach to (maybe use 2 long pretzel sticks if you want to keep it edible?)

2. twist the twizzlers however you want the DNA twist oriented

3. attach them to the ends of the pillars with strings? (probably tight, so the DNA doesn't come undone)

I've never tried it, so that would be my first attempt items.

@brandnewboi can u show me by posting abother video on how to make it be twitable b/c for my project it has to twist for at least 2 times

I don't have time for that. I would do it like I explained or just use pipe cleaners instead of strings when creating the DNA strands. Those usually stay bent when you twist them.
