No you do not have to atone for your past transgression just ask good for forgiveness which does not change what you did or make them go away. Yes people are still unforgivable then why is unforgivable sin taught in Churches. Which the unforgivable sin is rejecting Jesus as your lord and savior. Which is the one way ticket to hell.
