  • 40 degrees room temp, AND 40 degrees water temp. 2 cups rolling boil IN 5 minutes? C'mon..... What altitude are you at?

  • This was in my garage, a little cool, but obviously no wind. Altitude was about 2650 ft.

  • I dont really understand why the stove has to be filled toi the top. Depending on what I'm doing I dont always fill my stove all the way up.

  • My experience had been when this stove was not filled all the way, the heat output was not as high. When the stove was filled completely, if I did not use all of the fuel, I would extinguish the flame, wait for the stove to completely cool and then pour the remaining fuel back into the bottle.

  • Alcohol is not unstabble and combustable like gasoline products. WILL NOT EXPLODE. just burn and melt your nice little container.

  • Thanks for the input about combustibility.

  • I got one of these today and I like it a lot. However I can only get it to burn for a few minutes.....not long enough to boil water.

  • i really appreciate the emphasis on filing it up all the way. i just saw a 7-stove review and the 2 alcohol stoves failed cuz they went out. the guys didnt even put windshields on them on an outdoor test.

  • Use HEET. It burns super clean and does not make your stove black. You can buy it in WallMart

  • I've cooked marshmallows over the fire while using denatured alcohol without noticing any ill effects. You have to be careful since it can be hard to see the flame. I don't know how other fuel sources would work though. Some other fuels leave residues that may be harmful.
