janma karma ca me divyam
evaḿ yo vetti tattvataḥ
tyaktvā dehaḿ punar janma
naiti mām eti so 'rjuna
One who knows the transcendental nature of My appearance and activities does not, upon leaving the body, take his birth again in this material world, but attains My eternal abode, O Arjuna.
Krishna is the source of everything -- sambhavamy -- by his internal potency.
Something missing -- what is it?
impersonalists and the yogīs attain liberation only after much trouble and many, many births. Bahunam Janmanam ante....by the indirect method. By direct method one does not need many births.
Brahmajyoti of the Lord is source of everything -- so why is it partial. How do we know Krishna is source? 14.27 -- brahmaṇo hi pratiṣṭhāham amṛtasyāvyayasya ca śāśvatasya ca dharmasya sukhasyaikāntikasya ca
Why is the liberation partial? In SB Vyasadeva says that learned understanding is three different features -- vadanti tat tattva-vidas tattvam yaj jnanam advayam brahmeti paramatmeti bhagavan iti sabdyate
Why is the liberation not sufficient -- unless soul get the happiness one will surely fall down.
Anando maya -- paramananda has the features of ananda
tat tvam asi -- thou art that - you are that -- we are qualitatively like paraat brahman
One who understands that we are like the supreme....an example of the spark -- if it falls at a distance, the glowing diminishes or if it lands on dry leaves it ignites. When spark in full contact of blazing fire, it exhibits full qualities. Our nature can be like the supreme in the infallible state.
Say "You are the same Supreme Brahman, the Personality of Godhead," while being faithful .
Faith is important along with knowledge. Just saying that I believe is not sufficient like the common Christian notion. With faith you place trust in that something -- exhibition of faith is that we do service
Prabhupada was upset with dictionary definition - Religion is a belief. Belief is something that changes. For e.g. the common belief today - if science says something that must be true!
Things true in one generation are false in other.
For e.g.
· Continental drifts example -- the "fact" that continents drift
· World is flat to world is round
Prabhupada --
· Everywhere I go the world is flat
· There is no question of evolution -- "you are all monkeys"
By ascending processes of knowledge -- not possible to understand the absolute truth
If one is holding material conceptions -- it is not possible to understand the soul, connection to God
Prabhupada: Dr. Radhakrishna's approach was to kill Krishna.
From such a position of speculation, not possible to understand Krishna!
If unlimited is truly unlimited He will exhibit unlimited purely spiritual forms, appears out of his on sweet will because he wants to. He is not obliged to come according to His own sweet will -- atma mayaya. Companion verse -- paritranaya sadhunam...
Teachings of BG -- serve the source of everything -- aham sarvasya prabhavo
Knowing Krishna as source of everything -- one serves Krishna
Constitutionally and fundamentally everyone serving someone -- president serves the people.
When service propensity connects with source of everything, service flows very naturally to the supreme. In KC service to one other is part of service to supreme. Does not negate part of material existence but connecting material existence with supreme in all circumstances. Not out of want of liberation, but wanting to repose our attention to Krishna.
With poor fund of knowledge and hard hearts we cannot do. If during difficult times someone always serves Krishna does not take birth again in world.
