Jawbreaker playing an early version of "I Love You So Much It's Killing Us Both", with lyrics that are different than the studio version, live at Network Records in Dayton, OH on 3/29/1994. The first few seconds are kinda screwed up, but it gets better, so hold tight. I've kept all the between song banter and whatnot so that you can view the whole show if you'd like, although there are a few cuts in the footage, and I'm missing the last three songs. Go to my profile, and check out the playlists for the easiest way to watch the whole thing, or other shows.
A demo version of this version of the song was recorded and has just seen the light of day on the "For Callum" comp put out by Catlick Records. Abenefit for J. Robbins' son Callum.
Here's a funny story from Adam Pfahler about this demo: "We were recording that at this guy Jimmy Boyle's house in LA. Jimmy was a trip. He had gone out with Jenny Wright, who we all had mad crushes on since seeing her in The Wall, The Wild Life, Near Dark, etc. I digress. Anyway, while we were recording this early (I think it's mono) 16 track version, Pat Smear came by to say hey to Jimmy. He listened in as we were mixing. He thought the line was, "I wanna call you and tell you that I'm a fag." Thinking Blake was literally coming out on record, he was like, "Wow, that's really bold." And that, my friends, is a little story of recording an obscure Jawbreaker song that you and maybe twelve people will get a kick out of. And let this be a lesson to you to never end a sentence with a preposition."
This is part 1 of 14.
a recorded version of this was on spotify on a comp called "for Callum" it seems to have been accidentally replaced with the album version now though.

I don't know why I said it reminds me of Sluttering. That doesn't make any sense at all now. What the hell.

Number four, here. I love this version of the song. The chorus reminds me of Sluttering, and the intro is just....well, it's just awesome. That's what it is.
Note: The final version is equally great.
