@lupa186 dude thats just a piece of flimsy metal(very thin)
-
thank god i got steel bumpers on my truck fuckin flimsy piece of shit plastic bumpers
-
@hackervirus54 but bumpers are for light impacts, fender benders. in a crash where such things like impact absorbtion are needed, you need crumple zones and that requires specially engineered frame structures. infact, looking at the structure of modern fenders its even more dumb than I first thaught. They still use the big steel bars, but the cheep and easy to replace steel bumper is protected by expensive and functionally useless plastic & foam bodywork that only serves as asthetics.

@BlackMetalWarewolf Modern cars are made this way to comply with the standards of safety. Because plastic and foam can absorb moreimpact than steel bars, resulting in a less severe injury to the driver.

pwned

@BlackMetalWarewolf Thier ment to absorb the impact thous destroying the car and voiding the 90 mile warrenty!!:D
-
Sad.....

bumper = fail. what happened to big steel chrome plated bars of steel like in the 70s that actually survived a crash? Instead of sheets of plastic and foam.

I thought so, but you can never be sure. There are people that actually are stupid as that. :P
I miss bumpers that could take a little tap.
