Judy Garland Wizard of Oz Ruby Slippers Auction preview with Profiles in History's Joe Maddalena

Movie Prop Collectors was fortunate to a special interview and showing of Judy Garland's Ruby Slippers she wore as Dorothy in the MGM classic film, The Wizard of Oz..

The color of the Ruby Slippers vary depending on lighting. With indoor lighting the color varies from a deep burgundy to mid red. With natural outside lighting the color is a brighter red.

The Ruby Slippers, and many other rare and historic pieces of Hollywood history will be auctioned in a 3 day auction on December 15th, 16th, and 17th, at The Paley Center, in Beverly Hills, CA.

@RubySlippersProject Thank you very much for the kind words. I wanted to take as many close shots as possible, and Joe was kind enough to allow me to. The color varied depending on how the light hit them so I tried to have no additional light sources. Hope everyone enjoys :)

This is outstanding to see (the video images are great, patina and all)..If they infact, did not sell, they quite simply should be donated to a museum. In my opinion there is no price on these slippers... I believe they belong to the world and the world should see them upclose when ever they get a chance.
